Ok...so... There seemed to be a lot of love for the Ultramarine i painted up a few months ago, indeed, the darker colour scheme was mostly applauded! So it was that i've had in mind to do another one for a while, and here one is... He was put together some time ago,i was all enthused to paint a 400 point force for some in-store tournaments...of course, that was never gonna happen, and he then languished in my figure case for ages. I have quite a few projects on the go at the moment, and i often have a few "randoms" laying about to pick up as and when i feel like it,little "boredom busters" as it were. This chappy is one such toy,i worked at him here and there, and now he's done...or at least,as done as he's gonna be! Firstly,he's based on one of the great Chapter Master figures. I haven't done too much to him really,i replaced the hammer with a sword, used that cool eagle headed backpack, sculpted a few little omega symbols and added a new gun arm (im informed its from the Chaplain Cassius model, but dont quote me on that,i found it in my bits box and liked it!). He is a Tyranid Hunter,i've always loved that imagery Painting wise,i just attempted what i did before, trying to make the normally "boring" and "vanilla" Ultramarines look a bit tougher and more gritty than their normal portrayal. The blue caused me all sorts of bother mentally, theres a lot more armour showing on this guy than the last one,and i was a bit concerned he's now TOO dark...i tried to break it up by picking out all the details and adding a chipped effect to the edging. My favourite bit is the sword, that came out nicely, and i do like the back shot too,the backpack looks great against the cloak (which was also a pain in the arse to paint!) See what you boys and gals think... Comments and crits welcomed as ever Ben x
EDIT - I updated the photo,i think its better now...hopefully!
HUGE +FAV!! that is absolutely amazing.. just wow i really don't know what to say, is just OMFG -Head explodes from awesomeness- i hope some day i can paint that well

Very awesome!! I love the way you portray them Ultramarines.. looks so much better than the way 'Eavy Metal does. I would actually consider playing them.. if you painted the,,... no wait. I would never. Smurfs.

He's not as pretty as the other one lol...and where's his war possum?!
I actually just can't see it worth a damn on this screen. I see what you were talking about with the darker blue though...I do like the other one better, but this one is nice too...and it's still a great paint job (as usual, so I hate you ^_^)
